The EPA estimates that nearly a third of waste is food scraps and yard trimmings. Composting is a logical way to handle this waste and divert it from ending up in the landfill. In my home state, Princeton Township and Princeton Borough are taking the lead in the state through a pilot food waste recycling program. The town and residents save money and the program creates a more environmentally friendly way to handle organic waste.
